Pugliese to Serve as Vice-Chair on Steering Committee
Mesa County commissioner Rose Pugliese Jan. 24 was elected by her peers to serve as vice-chair on the Colorado Counties, Inc. (CCI) Health and Human Services Steering Committee. Commissioners from across Colorado elected Pugliese to a 2 year term on this highly influential board in part to give smaller, more rural Colorado communities a louder voice on issues related to public health and human services legislation.
On her election to the committee Pugliese says, “I am honored to get the confidence of my fellow commissioners to serve on CCI’s Health and Human Services steering committee. It is important that public health and human service legislation that affects all of Colorado’s counties be balanced among both the urban and rural areas of the state. I intend to use this opportunity to promote rural values and needs for pending legislation by getting state and other county leaders to tour our under-represented communities and engage with local leaders in a town hall inspired dialog.”
CCI is a non-profit membership association whose purpose is to offer assistance to county commissioners, mayors and councilmembers and to encourage counties to work together on common issues.
If you have questions, comments or suggestions on issues related to public health and human service needs in Mesa County you are invited to contact Commissioner Pugliese at 970-244-1885 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
