The Star Spangled Banner Flag Flies over Mesa County Offices

During the month of June, the Star Spangled Banner Flag flies over the Mesa County building at 544 Rood Avenue in honor of Flag Day, June 14th.

Since today is the first day of school for Mesa County students: Did you know that a 15-Star/15-Stripe flag flew over Fort McHenry in Baltimore Harbor during the War of 1812 in the Battle of Baltimore when 5,000 British soldiers and a fleet of 19 ships attacked Baltimore on September 12, 1814? During this battle, Francis Scott Key penned portions of what is now known as our National Anthem.
