Scott Stewart, a native Coloradoan, will start with Mesa County on April 23. He was one of two finalists for the position.
According to Mesa County Administrator Frank Whidden, Stewart has extensive public accounting experience and credentials including a CPA designation. He has held a number of positions and most recently has been working as a consultant to public entities across the United States.
Stewart and his family currently reside in Parker, Colo.
Whidden said a great deal of thanks is owed to the search committee: Janice Rich, Jeff Kuhr, Barb Golden and Krista Ubersox. Stewart was the top recommendation of the committee.
"I am very excited to bring Scott on board," Whidden said. "I believe that he will be a great addition to the leadership team, as well as being a subject-matter expert in the field of public finance."
