Business of the Commissioners, July 20

The Mesa County Commissioners this morning approved a Memorandum of Understanding between Mesa, Delta, Montrose and Ouray Counties and Colorado State University Extension to conduct and support Extension educational programs. The new MOU reflects small changes in the agreement that dates back to 1981 for CSU Extension's Tri-River Area.

The Tri-River Area Extension office offers information and programming including 4-H youth development, agriculture, gardening and horticulture, water resources management and consumer and family education.

In other business, the Commissioners:
  • Appointed Stacey Beaugh, Claudette Konola and Gale Foster to the Riverfront Commission for three-year terms.
  • Appointed Stan Young to the Mesa County Noxious Weed Advisory Board for a five-year term.
  • Met as the Board of Equalization and ratified the receipt of the Assessor's Valuation Report presented to the Commissioners at their July 13 public hearing.
  • Heard an update from Joseph Sanchez, director of Mesa County Libraries
