The Mesa County Commissioners today met with economic development partners including the Grand Junction Chamber of Commerce and Grand Junction Economic Partnership.
Topic: federal projects in which Mesa County is engaged.
Mesa County officials updated the economic partners and heard feedback. This was a follow-up meeting to the first, which was held in January.
Among other projects, the county is engaged with:
- An environmental assessment that looks at transferring land from the Bureau of Land Management to the Grand Junction Regional Airport. The draft is under review now.
- A Value of Public Lands study being conducted by the BLM and Colorado Mesa University.
- Gunnison Sage Grouse, Greater Sage Grouse and Yellow-Billed Cuckoo. Mesa County will pay for mapping of proposed critical habitat for the Yellow-Billed Cuckoo.
