This picture was part of the Veterans Day Series put together by the Mesa County Sheriff's Office: Deputy Vernon Crary served 10 years in the Army and six years in the National Guard, from 1991 to 2006. He was an M1 tank driver and gunner, serving in South Korea, Germany and a number of Forts across the U.S. During 9-11, his unit provided base security.
