Mesa County and the City of Grand Junction are hosting the third Wireless Master Plan (WMP) Meeting in the Grand Junction City Hall Auditorium at 250 North 5th Street on .
This meeting is the third meeting in the WMP process that will help the City and County work toward developing a long-range plan to guide the development of wireless and cellular services in Mesa County. The first meeting in this process was held on June 30, 2015, and the second on August 26, 2015. Since that time, CityScape Consultants, a professional firm with expertise in the development of wireless master plans, has completed on-site assessments and created an inventory of tower facilities that are currently being used to provide personal wireless services or that might be used to expand those services.
Using the personal wireless service facilities inventory, CityScape has modeled the coverage and analyzed future population growth and wireless needs to identify coverage gaps so that the community can provide input towards the development of the plan to meet those needs. They have also reviewed the development codes for the City and County and have proposed changes that are under review by the respective Planning and Legal Departments.
Please join us on December 7th to get a firsthand look at the inventory, the analysis of future needs, and recommended strategies to meet personal wireless service needs over the next ten years. Using input received at this meeting, CityScape will refine the draft Wireless Master Plan and work with City and County planning staff to revise Planning codes.
