Mesa County Library updates Commissioners

Joseph Sanchez, director of the Mesa County Libraries, spoke to the Mesa County Commissioners this morning.

His update on the library included these facts:

  • The Mesa County Library district has 75,000 active library card holders.
  • 1.2 million items are in circulation.
  • 40,000 people attend events at the library.
He also talked about the 970West Studio, the creative space the library constructed at 5th Street and Ouray Avenue, last year. It is being used by people from all walks of life, he said.

Sanchez also updated Commissioners on an app the library is developing called "Wild CO." Featuring wildlife from Colorado, the app will be available this summer.
