Commissioners on Monday heard a presentation from Dave Knutson of the Grand Mesa Nordic Council. The Commissioners submitted a letter of support to the Colorado Parks and Wildlife Division's Trails Program for a grant the Nordic Council is applying for to fund a new grooming machine

The Commissioners voted to approve a contract between Mesa County and Colorado West Regional Mental Health for residential substance abuse treatment for women in an amount not to exceed $285,000 and another contract between Mesa County and Colorado West Regional Mental Health and Colorado West Psychiatric Hospital for indigent psychiatric and detoxification services in an amount not to exceed $238,270.
Mesa County Noxious Weed and Pest received a truck full of herbicide for local recipients of the Invasive Phreatophyte Control Program grant. This will go a long way to help many on the Western Slope control tamarisk, Russian olive and other weeds.
