Over the last few years, Mesa County has navigated tough economic times. However, vigilant budgeting has allowed Mesa County government to continue providing needed services, while officials are doing what they can to improve efficiencies in service delivery while implementing innovative ideas.
The latest indicators, presented in the State of the County's presentation, show how the local economy struggled in 2016.
"I see the big challenge with public safety, but we will get on top of that," said Scott McInnis, Chair of the Mesa County Board of Commissioners. "But, otherwise, I am totally optimistic. I think that the economy is showing lots of sign of improvement. Anytime you run into the difficulties like we have, you come up with efficiencies."
