Mesa County Elections Director, Amanda Polson, accepted a position with the Mesa County Sheriff's Office yesterday. Her last day with the Clerk & Recorder will be Thursday, May 3, 2018.
“Amanda has served the Clerk & Recorder’s office well, and we will miss her,” said Sheila Reiner, Mesa County Clerk and Recorder. “When you are the Elections Director you won’t win any mother of the year awards; I know this first hand, so I understand and support Amanda’s choice to find a work-life balance and yet remain in public service for the citizens of Mesa County.”
“It has truly been a privilege to work with the Election's Division serving Mesa County. I am extremely proud of everything we have accomplished in my years with the office. Sheila's knowledge and know-how have created an environment where we were able to innovate and be successful when trust in 'the system' may be shrinking. I have complete faith in her and the amazing staff I leave behind to continue the tradition of excellence in serving the citizens of Mesa County,” said Mesa County Elections Director Amanda Polson.
“I could not be more excited For Amanda to continue her service to the residents of Mesa County with the Sheriff’s Office. Her dedication, integrity, and attention to detail will be an amazing fit in her new position of Evidence Technician at the Sheriff’s Office. We are very lucky to have so many immensely talented people working within Mesa County, and I am grateful to be able to draw from Amanda’s talents in this new chapter in her career,” said Mesa County Sheriff Matt Lewis.
“The open position will post soon, and we will recruit a new leader in Elections. Mesa County is fortunate to have a savvy staff who will adjust and overcome the challenges of this busy election year,” said Divisions Director Jackie Campbell.
