Economic Development Week

The Board of Mesa County Commissioners today in public hearing proclaimed May 6-11, 2019, as Economic Development Week and recognized the efforts of the Grand Junction Chamber of Commerce and local economic development partners, to reaffirm the importance of business development in Mesa County.

Representatives from the Grand Junction Chamber of Commerce and fellow economic development partners including the City of Grand Junction, Colorado Mesa University,  Business Incubator, Grand Junction Economic Partnership, and the Workforce Center stand alongside the Mesa County Commissioners as May 6-11, 2019, is formally proclaimed as Economic Development Week in Mesa County.
Economic development is a process that is strengthened by the critical partnership between development professionals and local government leadership to promote a shared vision for developing vibrant communities.
President and CEO of the Grand Junction Area Chamber of Commerce Diane Schwenke accepted the proclamation on behalf of all local economic development partners, including Mesa County.
Economic developers, in partnership with industries, educators, and other critical allies including Mesa County, cultivate and nurture entrepreneurship that helps to secure the next generation of new businesses, foster an effective business climate and meet the increasingly critical need for a skilled and competitive workforce.
