County and Elam Construction, Inc. Swap Land

The Board of Mesa County Commissioners authorized Mesa County's Right-of-Way Agent to execute a contract and accept the deed in exchange for real estate owned by Elam Construction, Inc., on Monday, June 8, 2020, for the benefit of both parties.

Elam traded property adjacent to the Colorado Riverfront Trail near 29 Road, which was converted to a parking lot for residents to park for free and access the trail.

Mesa County's 29 Road parking lot is open to the public and provides better access to the river trail from 29 Road.
Parking is free to trail users.

Residents can park for free and access the river trail from 29 Road.

Access from Mesa County's parking lot on 29 Road to the Colorado Riverfront Trail.

Trail users can park and recreate easily.

In exchange for the properties (listed above), Elam received Mesa County-owned lots 23, 24, and 29 (parcel number: 2945-082-00-104) of the Orchard Grove Subdivision, a wetlands area that the county was unable to utilize.

Mesa County traded this wetlands area for parcels 2943-203-00-089, 2943-203-00-090, and 2943-203-00-108.
